The Omaha Beach Golf is ideally situated in Normandy at Port en Bessin, right at the heart of the D-Day Landings. There are numerous museums to discover that trace events of that famous day, as well many different related sites dotted around the region.
Located just a few minutes outside of Bayeux, you can also visit the famous Bayeux Cathedral and its catacombs, the Bayeux Tapestry (known locally as the Queen Matilda Tapestry), a historical gem explaining pictorially how William the Conqueror invaded England and became King, or even the Embroidery Museum.
Further afield, you can also visit Caen, Cabourg, Deauville, Honfleur or Etretat. Normandy invites you to discover its riches and to enjoy a trip in one of France’s most beautiful and authentic regions.
The Omaha Beach Golf was created in 1986 by Guy Dupont and designed by Yves Bureau, who has many golf courses in France and abroad to his credit. It is located on the coast near Bayeux and only a few kilometres away from the D-Day Landing Beaches and the American Cemetery at Colleville-sur-mer where Steven Spielberg filmed scenes of “Saving Private Ryan” among the 10,000 white crosses.
The 36 holes show two very different aspects of the beautiful local scenery. Views of the sea from the Club House out to the 6th hole, whose green overhangs the port of Port en Bessin, and the last 9 holes give typical scenery of the Normandy countryside with its green meadows bordered by hedges.
